
Jai Gurudev Mandir Mathura is the temple of Mathura which looks like the Taj Mahal. This temple was built by Baba Jai Gurudev. Baba Jai Gurudev’s guru Pandit Shri Ghurelal Sharma ji wanted an ashram to be built in Mathura and he had told this to Baba Jai Gurudev, due to which this grand temple was built. Jai Gurudev Mandir Mathura is located in Mathura on the Delhi Agra Highway and is 50 km from Agra and about 150 km from Delhi.
History of Jai Gurudev Mandir Mathura
The history of Jai Gurudev Mandir Mathura is such that Baba Jai Gurudev’s guru Shri Ghurelal Ji wanted after his death his ashram should be built in Mathura. People of all religions should get an opportunity to do spiritual practice in his ashram. This temple was built keeping in mind all religions. The form of the temple is a combination of Mandir, Masjid, and Gurudwara, all can be seen in this temple.
Baba Jai Gurudev’s guru is also known as Dada Guruji, although his real name was Pandit Shri Ghurelal Sharma and he was a resident of Chiroli village of Aligarh. Baba Jai Gurudev lived there with him for many years. From where he received his guru’s spiritual and Yog Sadhna teachings. And from there Baba started the noble work of propagating religion and bringing the misguided society on the right path.
In 1948, when Dada Guru Shri Ghurelal Ji passed away, his disciple Baba Jai Gurudev set out on a mission to build his ashram in Mathura according to his wish on the path shown by his Guru. After that, he came to Mathura and in Mathura, he also established an institution named Chiroli under which he had to complete his further work.
After that, the work of Baba Jai Gurudev Mandir Mathura spread over 180 acres of land on Agra Delhi Highway, started. In this ashram, a very big Jai Gurudev Namyoga Sadhna Mandir Kendra has been built in the memory of Baba’s guru Shri Ghurelal ji, which is 200 feet long and 100 feet wide. In which about 60 thousand people can sit together and do Sadhna.
Other types of social welfare work are carried out in the Jai Guru Mandir Mathura premises, such as mass marriages without dowry, and serving people through medical treatment, there is a very big cowshed in the temple which serves many villages. Thousands of volunteers worked in the Jai Gurudev temple and also contributed a lot to the construction of the temple.
Farming is done on about 80 acres of the temple land, which is used for the service work going on in the temple and also for the fodder and water for the cows of the Gaushala. A huge fair is organized in the month of Margashirsha in Jai Gurudev Mandir, in which devotees from all over the country come and take part in the satsang held here. Thousands of shops are set up in the fair which are absolutely free and the temple premises do not charge any rent from them.

Who is Baba Jai Gurudev
The real name of Baba Jai Gurudev is not known, but his name is a proven name from yoga sadhana. Baba used to address his grandfather Guru Shri Ghurelal ji as Gurudev and used to say Jai Gurudev, hence his proven name Jai Gurudev became his identity. Baba Jai Gurudev was born in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh in 1896 and was inclined towards devotion and meditation since childhood.
In the early days, Baba used to travel to places like Banaras, then one day he reached the ashram of Pandit Ghurelal ji and since then he made him his Guru and for years he stayed with him in Chiroli village. There, from his Guru, he learned Yoga Sadhna, Bhakti, propagation of religion, bringing the misguided people on the right path and welfare of the society and taking it forward.
After a lifetime of struggle and his yoga practice, Baba conducted many programs in India and abroad to bring people on the right path and preach to people. From poor farmers to rich people also served him. Siddha Baba Jai Gurudev, who laid the foundation of the grand temple, passed away on 18 May 2012. But even today all the work of this grand temple is going on smoothly and the poor are being helped.

By Air: To reach Jai Gurudev Mandir Mathura by air, the nearest airport is Agra which is about 60 km away, the other airport is Indira Gandhi Airport in Delhi which is about 170 km away. From both these places, Mathura can be reached by train, taxi, or bus.
By Train: Passengers traveling by train will have to first come to Mathura Junction Railway Station to reach Jai Gurudev Temple. Trains from all major cities of the country are available at Mathura Junction Railway Station. The distance of Jai Gurudev Mandir Mathura from Mathura Junction is about 3 km and one can reach the temple from the station in 10 to 15 minutes.
By Road: To reach Jai Gurudev Mandir Mathura via road, one has to come to Mathura via Delhi Agra National Highway 42. The road to reach here is very clean and big on which one will not have to face any problem. The temple can be reached from Agra, Delhi, Jaipur, Alwar and Aligarh.
